Article 1: ORGANISER

Air France KLM South Africa has organised, via internet, a competition, starting from 01/10/2011 to 31/03/2012 in South Africa.

Article 2: PARTICIPATION

The competition is accessible to all persons over 18 years of age residing in South Africa, excluding the personnel of the organising companies and their families (same surname, same address).

Participation in the competition implies unconditional acceptance of the Rules & Conditions, and all their provisions and of the ethic rules in effect on the Internet.

Failure to comply with the competition Rules and Conditions shall entail cancellation of the participation.

Article 3: ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE COMPETITION

This competition is announced via a special banner campaign on the Air France and KLM (South Africa) websites and an email campaign inviting recipients to participate.

It may also be announced via other advertising media such as advertising banners on 3rd party websites.

The competition entry form is accessible at the following address www.onlineflightcheck-in.co.za or by clicking on the banner announcing the competition.

Article 4: COMPETITION RULES AND CONDITIONS

Purchase an Air France or KLM ticket

  • Must be booked online via the Air France or KLM South Africa websites; http://www.airfrance.co.za or http://www.klm.co.za
  • Valid for South African residents only
  • Only online bookings that were done on or after 01 October 2011 up to and including 31 March 2012 will be taken into consideration

Check-in online

  • Check-in online via Air France or KLM South Africa websites

Submit your competition entry

  • Submit your competition entry via online submission form
  • Only online entry submissions received via the online landing page at www.onlineflightcheck-in.co.za will be accepted
  • The online submission can only be done in the calendar month that you travel outbound from South Africa

Lucky draw

  • The monthly competition winner will be chosen by means of a monthly lucky draw
  • The competition runs over a period of 6 months, 01 October 2011 – 31 March 2012
  • There is one lucky draw competition winner per month, therefore a total of 6 iPad prizes to be given away over a period of 6 months
  • The lucky draw competition winner will be announced at the beginning of every month

Article 5: NAMING OF WINNER

The lucky draw competition winner will be announced at the beginning of every month.

The name of the winner shall not be given either by telephone or letter. The winner will be individually notified by email after the monthly draw.

Article 6: AUTHORISED ENTRIES

Incomplete or incorrect registration will not be considered and will render participation null and void.

Article 7: PRIZES

For South African residents only:

There is a total of 6 iPads to be given away over a period of 6 months, therefore one lucky draw competition winner per month.

The iPad 2 is the second generation of the iPad a tablet computer, designed, developed and marketed by Apple.

Article 8: ATTRIBUTION OF PRIZES

The competition winner is informed of his/her prize at the beginning of every month by email.

If the winner does not respond within 30 days after the announcement of the win, he/she will be considered to have waived his/her prize, and no new winner will be named for this prize. Winners must comply with the competition Rules. If the winner fails to meet the criteria of the present competition Rules, his/her prize will remain the property of Air France KLM.

Prizes may not in any case be returned or exchanged against their value in cash or any other prize, or transferred to third parties.

No challenge or claim of any kind will be accepted with regard to the prize. Winners undertake to take no claim in liability against Air France KLM with respect to the prize, or its delivery, condition or qualities.

Article 9: COMMUNICATION OF WINNERS

Air France KLM may use the surname, name, address, photograph or testimony of the winners for any of its communications and/or advertising operations on all media supports without the financial participation of Air France KLM being required to do so by the winners.

However, if the winners do not wish for their name, address or photograph to be used for such operations, they may make this request by mail in the 7 days following the end of the competition, addressed to:

Article 10: TERMS OF DATES OF THE COMPETITION

Air France KLM accepts no liability if, in the event of a force majeure or events beyond its control, should it cancel the present competition, reduce it, extend it, postpone it or modify its conditions.

Article 11: CHECK OF THE PARTICIPANTS’ IDENTITY

The participants authorise all checking concerning their identity and their place of residence. These checks will be carried out in strict compliance with legal provisions concerning respect for privacy. Any falsified, fraudulent, false, misleading, incorrect, inaccurate identity or address indication entails cancellation of the participation.

Article 12: LIABILITY

Air France KLM shall not be liable in the event of the dysfunction of the Internet that prevents access to the competition entry form. In particular, Air France KLM shall not be held reliable for any external acts of malice.

Although Air France KLM makes every effort to provide users with available and verified information and/or tools, it may not be held liable for mistakes, for lack of available information, and/or the presence of viruses on the site. Participation in this competition implies awareness and acceptance of the characteristics and limitations of the Internet, lack of protection of certain data against possible misappropriation or pirating, and risks of contamination by any viruses circulating over the system. It is each participant’s responsibility to take all appropriate measures to protect his/her own data and/or software stored on his/her computer and telephone equipment against any attack. Connection to the site and participation in the competition by any person is done entirely under that person’s responsibility.

Furthermore, Air France KLM is not liable in the case of:

  • telephone connection problems
  • hardware or software problems
  • destruction of information supplied by participants for a reason not attributable to Air France KLM
  • errors of human or electrical origin
  • disturbances that might affect the proper progression of the competition or the dysfunction of the automated drawing process.

Air France KLM is not liable for the consequences of any delays in electronic mail that is not attributable to it. Addressees must make claims directly to the companies having been responsible for handling said mail.

In all cases, if the proper administrative and/or technical operation of the competition is disturbed by a cause for which Air France KLM is not responsible, Air France KLM reserves the right to interrupt the operation of the competition.

Any fraud or non-compliance with the competition Rules may give rise to exclusion from the competition: if necessary, Air France KLM reserves the right to take legal action against it.

Article 13: ACCEPTANCE OF REGULATION

Participation in the present competition entails the full and entire acceptance of all of the clauses and conditions laid out in the present regulation.
